For twenty five years, and for the past eight years in Turkey, we have been working in the marine industry, in both the commercial and leisure sectors, afloat and ashore. We believe that this experience offers a truly unique service to our clients.
Turkey builds internationally recognised designer yachts, built to classification of various institutes. Construction methods are modern and of excellent quality steel, wood and GRP. Along with modern yacht construction traditional wooden Gulets are still built to higher standards but still retaining the classical Gulet look.
Liaising with naval architects, design engineers, shipwrights and technical staff, we are at your service. We advise, oversee, survey, manage, register new builds, refit, repair and refurbish.
Due to the expansion of the yacht construction and the repair industry in Turkey, Bodrum Marine Services has increased its involvement in this field. Over the past couple of years the BMS team has undertaken the project management and supervision of several large vessels and is currently negotiating the construction of a 50 meter tri-decked motor yacht.
Additionally Bodrum Marine Services is contracted to manage the refit of two 42 meter charter vessels.
The increase in size and quality of the charter vessels operating in the Mediterranean has created the need for the professional management of these vessels. In addition to refitting and carrying out general repairs on these vessels we have undertaken the roll of general charter managers which includes all aspects of charter, crew and safety requirements.
Vessel owners prefer to communicate with one professional team which will undertake repairs as well as charter operations rather than work with several different organizations. Due to demand BMS's involvement in this type of management will increase. Yacht general and charter management consists of various different areas including the booking of the charter groups, contracts and licenses, crew selection and training, general upkeep of the vessel, charter party requirements, weekly turn around operations, fuel and provisions, harbour master formalities and financial organization.
Yacht Registration
In association with Jersey Yacht Management we can arrange yacht registration in the Channel Islands, Malta, Bermuda, I.o.M., Caymans and British Virgin Islands. We use Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Germanischer Lloyd or Det Norkse Veritas.
We can conduct tonnage surveys and issue carving and marking certificates. Bodrum marine services will personally oversee every stage of the procedure and can advise on how to best protect your assets and reduce your tax liabilities.

For twenty five years, and for the past eight years in Turkey, we have been working in the marine industry, in both the commercial and leisure sectors, afloat and ashore. We believe that this experience offers a truly unique service to our clients. We are proud to offer in association with Ward & McKenzie the following legal and technical services.
Yacht Conveyancing
The purchase of a motor or sailing yacht can be a risky business. Unlike a house, a boat can move. It is not unknown for a vessel to be sold on one coast, be moved to another and even to be sold again. There is no mandatory central registry. High values can be involved. That can mean that repair or mooring fees etc are not paid before a vessel has disappeared or has been sold. Some outstanding claims, finance and bills attach to the vessel and are inherited on ownership. The new owner becomes liable. Coupled to that may be problems with VAT - has it been paid, or reclaimed by a company? Has the boat been exported? There is also the question of RCD compliance. Our conveyancing service aims to address concerns like these and ensure that clean title is obtained before any large investment is made.
Legal
In contentious cases you may need to know where you stand, legally. You may need to know what action could be taken at what cost. We have wide experience of the legal marine world, we understand how the industry works , the problems that may be encountered and the solutions that can be found. We give impartial advice on the legal aspects of cases and can give you a good steer on how redress may be sought and obtained. A combination of technical and legal advice, the first consultation is free.
Marine
Our marine consultancy service covers a wide range of marine activities. It starts with straightforward survey, covers new-build project management or refit supervision and carries on through commercial Code of Practice and Safety Audits. We can also tackle basic research and project planning. We provide impartial professional advice or an impartial professional second opinion, if you so wish.
Ownership
We can advise you on the best way to own the boat you may be considering buying, and how the cost of ownership may be offset possibly by Charter, or co-ownership.
Registration
We can advise on and effect both British and offshore registration. Talk to us about the benefits of Pt 1 registration and offshore registration. We also undertake tonnage measurement inspections worldwide.
Technical
Our specialist consultancy covers a number of disciplines. Supervision of new-builds, refits, mechanical, electrical and composite materials and components fall under this heading.
Investigations
As members of the International Association of Marine Investigators (IAMI) we carry out investigations into missing or stolen vessels, and associated matters.

Bodrum Marine Services has a diversity of experience and has kept up with the latest technology and designs in all aspects of custom yacht construction. From racing yacht to cruising yacht, super yachts and Turkish Gulets, projects cover a broad spectrum of size, intended service and construction materials.
We are currently supervising and project managering the total refit of a new 42m sailing yacht and we are overseeing the construction of a 45m tri deck steel motor yacht built to Lloyds and MCA Class.
We have recently overseen the construction and refit of the following vessels:
18m Steel dive charter vessel.
We have been fortunate to have worked with most of the leading architects, interior designers, engineers and shipyards in Turkey, and have developed solid, successful working relationships with them.
Given the sophisticated and complex nature of most of today's yachts, we feel that the need for the Owner to have professional representation is paramount.
We know from experience that retaining BMS does not increase the overall cost of the yacht, rather it raises the level of organization, ensuring that the vessel is properly constructed and equipped, and keeps budgetary constraints intact whilst ensuring scheduling goals are met.
We also offer complete continuity in the form of full support for as long as the yacht is in commission. We routinely assist in the resolution of warranty issues, procure or replace parts and often are called upon to manage modifications that may subsequently be decided upon.
