The concept: to experiment with hydro-formed aluminium in the field of design, exploring new applications for the exceptional lightness and strength of the material, normally used in the sports industry to produce extreme competition bicycles. Hydrochair. A seat that manages to be both sturdy and delicately refined. The sophisticated hydroforming process allows for continual variations in the aluminium cross-sections, greatly reducing use of material. The most innovative aspect of hydrochair lies in its combination of hydro-formed and pressure-cast aluminium; a technological hybrid that maximizes properties of lightness and strength. These aesthetic and physical characteristics are fundamental to a chair that lends itself to being frequently moved about and stacked.
