Laleggera is an extraordinarily beautiful seating group that pushes the marriage of technology and materials to achieve both its physical lightness and aesthetics. All of the components are formed by wood veneer – the resulting negative space within the formed veneer frame is injected with polyurethane foam. In 2009 the it became part of the resident MoMA collection in New York. Laleggera is veneered in natural maple, ash stained ebony, cherry-wood, wenge or whitened oak and has various lacquer colours.

"Born in Bergamo in 1959, he graduated from Milan Polytechnic. He has participated in various awards in France and Switzerland. In 1996 he designed laleggera for Alias, which won the ADI Compasso d’Oro 1998.
