“I was going to purchase a vessel without viewing it, the boat was in Turkey and I'm based in the UK. Therefore relying on only the survey. Which was very good !!!. I decided not to purchase when speaking to the seller, later I found that he had a survey done prior to buying *** ***** several years earlier. I would always say that a survey is always part of the process of buying a boat.”William Morton

The aim of a Full Condition Survey, commonly known as a Pre-Purchase Survey is to identify and detail a yacht's defects, so for a new buyer help them decide if they wish to proceed with the purchase of their chosen yacht.
A Full Condition Survey is recommended if
- You are buying a second hand yacht
- Having your new yacht handed over after delivery
- Having your yacht returned after the end of contract with a Yacht Charter Company.
The Full Condition Survey is carried out in three parts: In water inspection, sea trial then lift of the yacht followed by out of water inspection.
Why Choose BMS ?
Care should be taken when choosing a Marine Surveyor, the industry is unregulated meaning any individual can set themselves up and call themselves a Marine Surveyor
There are two internationally recognised British based organisations that represent surveyors. The International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) and The Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association (YDSA). All surveyors are vetted before they can join either of these organisations and to keep their membership both organisations have systems which ensure continuous professional development.
Bodrum Marine Services are all members of one or both of the organisations listed above and all also have specific marine surveying qualifications.
Our services, as surveyors, consultants and ship managers are indemnified by full professional indemnity insurance underwritten at Lloyds of London.
Bodrum Marine Services offer consultancy on new construction and refits, acting as project managers including technical, legal and registration advice.
Our team has experience on all types of marine vessels, construction methods, materials and firsthand experience of boat yards and repair facilities the world over.
Bodrum Marine Services can advise you on a yard, coordinate a technical team and crew, present development reports on a regular basis, arrange quotes and audit financially. In addition we have a full understanding of the correct registration and certification requirements to suit individual clients.
