Bodrum Marine Services is an internationally recognised marine surveying and consultancy group based in the Uk with an office in Turkey and offers a wide range of services, world wide. BMS surveyors are authorised to carry out MCA (Maritime and Coastguard agency) coding for the Code of Practice for Small Commercial Vessels and tonnage surveys for the IIMS (International Institute of Marine Surveyors), YDSA (Yacht Brokers, Designers & Surveyors Association) , MECAL, RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and we also act on behalf of several flag states. BMS are authorised RYA Boat inspectors and RCD (Recreational Craft Directive) examiners.

 

Acting as project managers BMS offers consultancy and technical advice on new construction and refits. Our team have operational experience on all types of marine vessels, of all construction methods, materials and firsthand experience of boat yards and repair facilities the world over. BMS can help you select the yard, coordinate the technical team and crew, present development reports on a regular basis, arrange quotes and audit finances. Additionally we can provide you with a full understanding of the correct registration and certification procedures to suit your requirements.

Akan Dumrul - Turkish Representative

Mr Akan Dumrul has been involved with sailing yachts for over 20 years. He has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and joined the company after working in one of Turkey's premier ship and yacht building yards.

Mr. Dumrul's main role in the company is to work as a project manager on new constructions and refits, pariculary with larger vessels.

Mark Wiater - Principal Surveyor & Project Manager

Mr. Mark Wiater was a professional mariner for over 20 years, who worked in commercial shipping before transferring to yachts. Since 1993 he has been working as a marine surveyor and gained his Diploma in Marine Surveying in 2001.

Mark is a full member and of the IIMS, and previously national representaive for Turkey for several years. Accreditted surveyor member of the YDSA and accredited by the RYA and Mecal and various flag states. Mr. Wiater’s roll in the company is to act as principal surveyor and work as a project manager on new constructions and refits which amongst others have included two 45m motor yachts, and sailing yachts to 28m.
